Dare to look

They chose to take action,  

as dictated by their conscience,  

to see the person facing them. 

They aided, although they, and their families, 

were placed in imminent danger. 

Sometimes they acted as individuals,  

sometimes as societies and communities.  

They provided refuge, nourishment, shelter.  

They saved lives.
