Past Continuous

This exhibition marks 75 years since the establishment of the Ghetto Fighters’ House Archive—one of the world’s most significant collections of Holocaust memory and testimony. It presents a selection of documents, rare artifacts, and photographs chosen from among thousands of items preserved in the archive, each selected by leading scholars in the field of Holocaust memory.

The scholars’ interpretations, written in response to the item they selected, offer a contemporary lens and renewed meaning to the archival materials. Together, they create a powerful encounter between memories of the past and the questions of the present.

The exhibition invites visitors to closely examine the historical sources that laid the foundations for the museum’s work, and to reflect anew on the power of objects, photographs, and documents to shape our understanding of the Holocaust.
