Here Began My Childhood

Sunday through Thursday from 9:00-16:00

The story of the children who survived and remained without parents

"...I had nowhere to go.  I thought no other Jews were still alive..."
(Shabtai Kantor)

What happened to the children who survivied and remained without parents?  Who came forward to gather them in, to rehabilitate them, to make them a substitute home, to give them hope for a better future and enabe them to dream?

The exhibition "Here Began My Childhood" brings the story of how these children coped with their past, and honors the tremendous work of those who undertook to rescue them, to return to them their childhoods, and to pave their way to building their future.

Displayed in the exhibition are stages in their lives:  loss of home, making a temproary home - the children's homes, and the dream of building a home in the Promised Land:  Eretz Israel.
