New Exhibition:  The White Rose

A new exhibition, "The White Rose", which is on display at the Center for Humanistic Education at the Ghetto Fighters' House, presents the biographies of the underground movement's members, as well as flyers that they dispersed in an attempt to rouse the German public to act against the Nazi regime.  The adaption of the exhibition for the Ghetto Fighters' House, including translation to Arabic, Hebrew and English, was sponsored by the Weisse Rose Stiftung and the Goethe Institut in Israel.

Journey to Poland:  Israel-Polish Youth Encounter

During the month of September, guides from the Ghetto Fighters’ House Museum accompanied 100 12th grade students from Haifa’s Leo Baeck High School on a journey to Poland. This year, for the first time, we included a joint activity with Polish youth in order to enrich the students' encounter with Polish culture .

Continued Education Courses 2015-2016

In November, the Ghetto Fighters' House opened the 2015-2016 academic year.  Several new courses, with an anticipated number of 500 participants, will take place throughout the year.

Nine Original Artworks by Artist Malva Schalek
Returned to the GFH Archives

In October, Attn. Elinor Kroitoru, Director of the Asset Location and Information Division in the Company for Location and Restitution of Holocaust Victims' Assets, transferred nine paintings by Malva Schalek to the GFH Archives' Art Collection. These works were loaned to the Museum of Modern Art in Eilat decades ago, and have now been returned to the GFH.

Two New Actors Join the Yad Layeled Staff

This year, two new actors joined the Yad Layeled staff.   As a result, the museum can now present one of two plays every day of the week.  The plays cater to different audiences and contribute to the museum experience.

Introducing Two New Members of the GHF Staff

We are happy to introduce two new members of the Ghetto Fighters' House staff and wish them success in their new positions.  Dr. Michal Sadan has been appointed the director of Yad Layeled. Yaron Zur will be the pedagogical coordinator of the museum's education department.

Upcoming at the Ghetto Fighters' House

The International Holocaust Commemoration event will take place this year on the evening of 26th of January. The theme this year will be "The Long Shadow of History: Refugees and Immigration – Then and Today".
