Inauguration of New Screening Hall

On July 11, 2016, a new Screening Hall was inaugurated adjacent to the "The Jews of Holland during the Holocaust" exhibition in the Ghetto Fighters’ House Museum. The hall was donated by the Friends Association of GFH in Holland and by the "Maror” (SCMI) Foundation. The event began with the affixing of the Mezuzah and the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the hall entrance. Also present at the event were Mr. Rudy Meijers, President of the Friends Association, Mr. Itamar Engelsman and Mrs. Elishevah Hazon, Maror Foundation representatives, as well as guests and employees of the House.

Dr. Anat Livne, General Director of the GFH, expressed her thanks to the Friends Association of GFH in Holland and the "Maror” (SCMI) Foundation for their contributions to the construction of the screening hall. Dr. Livne also noted that this modern hall is equipped with cutting edge technology, which will help the GFH to continue its longstanding educational mission among tens of thousands of pupils, students, teachers and visitors every year. Mr. Meijers, who came especially from the Netherlands for the ceremony, mentioned the long-term relations and the productive projects of the Friends Association of GFH in Holland with the museum. Mr. Engelsman emphasized the wonderful educational work done at the GFH and the future cooperation between the two institutions.
